HUMANS
I have been coming to Lisa for over a year now and the Reiki sessions leave me with an incredible sense of well-being. I walk in drained and generally feeling the woes of a hectic day-to-day life and as a result of the treatment I leave feeling rested, calm and generally more positive. Lisa puts you at ease with her friendly and relaxed manner and having Reiki is something I really look forward to.
I really notice the difference if I don't have Reiki for a while and I would recommend it to anyone as it has made such an improvement to my life - I now feel that I can cope with most things that are thrown at me. Thanks Lisa! Louise, Cambridge.
I have attended Lisa’s Reiki sessions now for several years. Lisa and the environment are warm and welcoming.
The experience of Reiki is different each time, presumably dependent on what is going on in my life.
What is consistent is that afterwards, I feel ‘whole’ again and deeply relaxed. It is rewarding time spent just for me with no one wanting or demanding anything. The experience increases my spiritual awareness and makes me feel at peace and as ‘one’ with the environment and surroundings . After the experience Lisa is happy to listen to my experience with complete open-mindedness. In essence it is a beautiful and rewarding experience which is down to Lisa’s experience, knowledge and wonderful gift. Sophie Palmer, Sawston. Cambridge.
Lisa has an indefinable and inimitable gift, coupled with her in-depth understanding of human nature, she is able to apply Reiki with special results. Darryl Nantais, Linton, Cambridge.
My first treatment with Lisa really relaxed me giving me serenity I was much in need of without realising it; the second left me bursting with energy and confidence. Mirjam Dekker, Kedington, Suffolk.
My family and I have all had Reiki sessions with Lisa, during some testing times. It has helped us to individually get through these, and personally it has given me a more positive outlook on life. Maria King, Norwich.
HORSES
Precious Pearl
We have owned Pearl, a 16.3hh 9 year-old sports horse, for two years. Pearl, whilst being a lovely horse to ride, seemed to have various issues around her. She often seemed anxious and "snappy" around people and was certainly non-trusting of them. We started to have really strong problems with her when travelling in that she started throwing herself violently against the partition when the trailer was moving. I felt that the problem was mainly within her back area and being unable to really bend her body properly, something that you didn't notice when riding her, but was very apparent when she travelled. Having given her issues a lot of thought and research, I decided on firstly having her back checked. This proved that the muscles in her back were indeed in spasm. Whilst this sorted out the physical problem for Pearl I still felt that she would have in her mind that it would still be a problem. So I got in contact with Lissa who I knew did Reiki on horses. Whilst my husband, who owns and rides Pearl, was a total sceptic I knew this was what she needed to have in order for her to mentally relax and unwind and let go of the issues around travelling. I booked Lissa to come out to the livery yard where we keep Pearl and have five sessions with her. The first session was amazing with Pearl absorbing the Reiki and totally relaxing and almost going to sleep. As we thought the chakras along her back were blocked. Over the next four weeks Pearl began to relax more and more and really was enjoying her Reiki and becoming a much more chilled out mare instead of constantly being anxious. By week five she had a lot more trust in the people around her and was totally relaxed. After the five sessions with Lissa and having had her back checked we decided to travel her for the first time in the trailer again which was a nerve wracking experience given the way she reacted before. We took the partition out of the trailer to give her space, loaded her and took her on a short journey. The result was amazing. She never moved once, didn't sweat up, travelled like a dream, in fact you almost didn't realise she was in the trailer at all. I now have a happy horse who is relaxed about life and back to enjoying what she loves best – eventing – and she continues to travel like a dream - thank you Lissa!!
Argent Facile
Having had Lissa out to look at my husband’s horse, I decided that while Lissa was there it would be a good idea for her to check out my horse, Argent Facile. I thought that Argent would be totally open given his personality in that he was terribly cheeky, alert, always up to something and watching everything. I had brought Argent five years ago straight out of racing and realised that he had probably had a relatively tough life in racing, although well cared for and looked after the regime of racing is naturally very hard on horses. Lissa checked out his chakras and discovered that he was open until you got to his solar plexus chakra and from there on he was totally blocked.
I decided to book a course of Reiki for him. The first session was totally emotional, Argent was struggling to allow Lissa to work on him and relax and let go of whatever was bothering him. When she got to the first blocked chakra there was an incredibly powerful and strong sad emotion that left us both feeling rather upset at what was coming out of him. The second session was much more positive and he allowed Lissa to work on him and this time he started to yawn and almost go to sleep.
Over the next few weeks Argent learned to look forward to his Reiki and relax and by the last session he was totally open and chilled out. He has become much more relaxed in his schooling which has improved his paces and attitude beyond belief, so I’m hoping to reach that elusive 60% in dressage soon.We also clipped him last weekend, something that for the last five years has been an annual event that risked life and limb (indeed the first year he put my husband in hospital). This time was completely different and it took one hour instead of over two - wonderful.
I didn't think Argent really needed to have Reiki when Pearl was having hers, but I am really pleased I booked it for him as he is a much happier, relaxed horse, still cheeky, but in a much happier way! J Harrison, Balsham, Cambridgeshire
Casey
In July of 2008 I acquired a strapping bay mare called Casey. She is nigh on full thoroughbred, 16hh and sweet natured. Her previous owners bred her from their own homebred mare so it was a shock to Casey to be moved north of the river from Kent to Cambridgeshire!!I bought her with a problem – three huge hernias from a colic operation 12 months previously. For two or three weeks she was allowed to settle in and have some very light exercise (as recommended by her previous owners). She quickly became friends with our pony and enjoyed being out, but her stable was a nightmare; soaking wet, pounded into the floor and dug into heaps and troughs. And she never relaxed or stood still.I spoke to Lissa and we agreed that a course of Reiki might make her feel at home and more part of her new family. The farrier came and declared her in too much discomfort to ride so I called in my vet.His prognosis was bleak – the hernias were so extensive that she had to be operated on or be put down. After two days agonising we decided she deserved her chance at life.Lissa had eight days to get in four sessions with Casey. We agreed that Casey needed to feel that she belonged and that she had something to come back to after another traumatic operation. The first session was transformational.Firstly she stood still for over 50 minutes and she relaxed. The following morning her stable was 60% better, less pounding, less wet and less heaps.By the end of the week you wouldn’t have recognised her, the tension and fretting had gone and we felt sure that she was in the best state possible to face her operation.Indeed, when she arrived at the equine hospital my mother and I stood open mouthed in disbelief as she calmly walked into her stable and stood eating her hay – not what we would have expected from the horse we’d met a few short weeks before. The operation took three hours – the damage was so extensive – but she came through, healed well and quickly and has gone from strength to strength.Lissa kept supporting her with distance healing through the two weeks she was in hospital. When Casey arrived at her convalescence home, again she calmly entered her new stable and stood quietly eating her hay. Now, when we go to visit her she greets us before returning to her vigorous demolishing of her hay-net.So fingers crossed and with Lissa keeping an eye on her….B Garnish, Great Abington, Cambridgeshire
